What’s That on the Wall Outside of St. John’s? |
Check out the exciting mural that is being created on the wall outside across from our church! Through collaboration between the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health, SEPTA, Project H.O.M.E., the Bethesda Project and St. John’s, the Finding Home mural is taking shape. St. John’s is grateful to have received a generous grant for such collaborative projects from Partners for Sacred Places, part of which we contributed to the mural effort.
Finding Home is a project aimed at raising awareness about the plight of our fellow citizens experiencing homelessness. It has often been said that a basic moral test for our society is how we treat the most vulnerable in our midst. Finding Home is the first large-scale textile installation aimed at engaging through dialogue and creative collaboration those of us who are fortunate to have shelter and those of us who are without. |
